Am I trans? Take the Transcheck.
"Am I trans?" or "Am I really trans?" — it is a question many young people struggle with. This free Transcheck (also known as a transgender test or gender test) helps you think about it using 50 yes/no questions.
In a world where TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are filled with transition stories, it sometimes seems as if "being trans" is the answer to everything that doesn't sit right with you. For some, gender questioning is real and lasting; for others, very different factors come into play—trauma, autism, depression, social media influence, or the ordinary insecurity of puberty.
This test shows what seems most likely in your case in 10 minutes. You won't receive a diagnosis, but you will get an honest reflection. The result appears immediately on your screen; you don't need to enter a name or email.

Why this check?
Among teenagers and young adults, questions about identity have increased significantly since the advent of smartphones, TikTok, and Instagram. Many of these questions are quickly labeled with a gender—sometimes by the young person themselves, sometimes by friends or online accounts, and sometimes by healthcare providers. Whether that label is justified is another question.
The Transcheck is not a diagnosis. It is a questionnaire that helps distinguish between a long-term, stable picture and signals that usually point to something else: a difficult period, sadness, autism or ADHD, social influence, or the normal searching that comes with puberty.
What the test does and does not do
It is: a mirror. The questions help you reflect on your history, your body, your friends, your time online — all things that play a role in what you feel right now.
Not: a diagnosis. No online test can determine whether someone is "trans." Nor is there any biological or medical test from which you can deduce that. For some people, the suffering regarding their bodies is lifelong and intense — for the vast majority of teenagers with identity questions, that is not the case.
Why not through a psychologist or by talking about it?
It seems logical to go to a GP or psychologist with these questions. But in practice, that process often goes in one direction: the GP refers to a psychologist, the psychologist to a gender clinic, and there the outcome is largely predetermined — affirmation, social transition, and ultimately often medical steps.
Talking about it with friends or in online groups usually backfires as well. The more words you give to your feelings, the bigger they become. Your story becomes your identity, and your identity becomes your direction.
From a developmental psychological perspective, puberty is a period of searching — that is no coincidence, that is intentional. Your brain continues to develop until about the age of 25. Your personality is shaped by what you do, not by what you say about yourself. Anyone who plays sports, studies, works, hangs out with friends, and gets out naturally builds a person. Anyone who stays stuck in their head keeps searching.
